PROJECT: Buderim Lions Park Lookout Fence Renewal EL5818

Fence Renewal Works

The existing fence at the Buderim Lions Lookout (Burnett St) haD reached the end of its life and requires renewal. The southern half of this fence line will be renewed in this project (Stage 2) with the renewal of playground soft fall to be completed.

The scope of works for this project (Stage 2) includes:

• Replacement of existing fence and removal of existing fence
• Install a plinth wall under the fence alignment to retain Softfall mulch
• Install two new electrical pits to replace the Existing pits
• Turf repair

PROJECT:  Eternal Flame – Cotton Tree Cenotaph

CLIENT: Sunshine Coast Regional Council

SCOPE OF WORKS: Park Forge was engaged by Sunshine Coast Regional Council and working in conjunction with the Maroochy RSL.

Works involved:

The Maroochydore RSL Eternal Flame project within the existing Cotton Tree Cenotaph.

The project was delivered in partnership with the Maroochydore RSL and completed in readiness for 100-year celebrations of Armistice Day on 11th November 2018.  As per issued construction drawings, scope of works include :

• Construction of concrete wall and eternal flame monument :
• Contractor to procure and install in-slab light fittings and controls
• Concrete slabs and flag pole relocation;
• Connection of all services, testing and commissioning including DBYD
• Landscaping
• Certified inspections as per detail

DELIVERY: The Project was completed with only minimal delay due to manufacturing timeframes and with no cost variations.

PROJECT:  Landscape Construction at Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club

Park Forge recently completed the construction of a viewing platform and undertook associated landscape construction works at the Maroochydore SLSC, Cotton Tree, Maroochydore, for the Sunshine Coast Council. These works included a number of major challenges that Park Forge was able to rectify with the direction of our Client.
Works include were:

• Site preparation with clearance and tree protection
• Sediment and erosion control, including silt socks to hard surfaces and filter fabric and coffer dam to beach excavation
• Demolition of structure and installation of new Timber structure, including Decking
• Major earthworks, including excavation in sand to reach Coffee Rock layer, and was then lined with impermeable plastic and geotextile filter fabric. The Excavated material was battered back for protection from collapse
• Plumbing and drainage works
• Concrete pavements and revetment wall construction
• Open space furniture, including customised furniture and beach shower upgrade
• Installation of Stainless Steel handrails
• Soft landscaping and irrigation
• Electrical and lighting works

PROJECT: Beach Access 124 Mudjimba – Shower Upgrade

CLIENT: Sunshine Coast Regional Council

SCOPE OF WORKS: Park Forge was responsible for upgrading the Public Showers and associated works at Beach Access 124 Mudjimba. This included the following items:

• Site establishment, including insurance, service locations and all relevant WH&S requirements
• Pedestrian & vehicle management
• Removal of beach access showers and associated concrete
• Installation of new concrete platforms/ramp & stairs
• Installation of the drinking fountain, bike racks, and bin surrounds
• Reconfiguration of carpark including kerb, line marking, asphalt and signage
• Softscapes, including turf and garden bed planting
• ADAC and As Constructed Drawings
• Supply of form 12 was carried out by the engineer.

The location of the site required a heightened level of Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental and Pedestrian and Traffic Management. Located in an environmentally sensitive area, all vegetation and wildlife were protected, and no damage or harm could occur.

In addition, the area has regular use by the public and required a lot of management with Council and the Public. The site also had to be surveyed for unexploded ordinands.

DELIVERY: The Project was completed on time with delays relating to ongoing issues within the industry with procurement and manufacturing timeframes, and with very minimal cost variations within the original scope of works.
